Pinky
I settled with NCO, Alegis and The Bureaus about 4 mos. ago. They all agreed to update my credit rating to paid with zero balance. This was reflected in my cover letter when payment was sent. Much to my horror, I just received my credit report and all of them have not updated my rating and they all reflect balances. I faxed them all letters today advising them of the situation and reminding them of our agreement. What do I do next? fixerupper
Did you send them the copy of the agreement with a 15-day deadline for updating the credit report? I think that would be the next step. If they signed a settlement agreement with you, they are obligated to update your report within a reasonable time frame. Pinky
I got the agreements as to the updating the credit report verbally. 2 of the 3 CAs stated in their settlement letter that my rating will be "updated". The other letter didn't say anything about it, however I was very careful in my cover letter to say that the settlement payment was in consideration for them updating my credit rating with paid status reflecting zero balance. Can I make this an issue with the CRAs if the CAs ignore my letter?
