GiveCredit
Greetings Everyone,I finally have copies of all of my reports and there are some major discrepancies in them. Some report that the accounts were included in Chapter 7, but still indicate "open" (can they do that?). On other accounts two agencies report correctly "included in BK" 3rd agency indicates account open & in collection. On my Ford Credit, one CRA list as paid as agreed (traded car in and balance paid off), other two list included in BK. Washington Mutual Bank (mortgage company) is listed twice under two different account numbers, one says Chapter 7 discharged (house was originally included in BK, but was later sold and paid off) and the others two has Paid as Agreed. How should I handle this? (I'm so confused ) Should I just dispute with CRA's first or should I send copies of BK papers, what? All advise welcome. TIACC
md
It depends what your goals are as to whether you should send your BK papers to the CRAs. However, it is almost always recommended that you do not do this as you are proving to them that you filed BK. Later if you try to get this removed it may prove much more difficult, depending on if they keep your paperwork or what type of notations they place in the computer. It would probably be best to dispute the one that is included in BK as "not mine" and see if you get lucky.
