donnak
We have a doublewide home on one acre of land. The house is in my husbands name only, the land is in my name and is free and clear. The interest is around 10% now. My question is does anyone know who will refinace this in my name? Not alot of places want to deal with Mobile homes. It is two years old. We have it through CIT now, but they will not refinance. Our bank won't refinance a Mobile Home.Could I purchase this home from my husband at the Bank?Any suggestions as to what I/we should do? My husband has a BK, so we are limited I know. It will be a year in Jan. since his BK.
firstsource
Is the home taxed as real or personal property?Charles
donnak
How would I find that out?
firstsource
You should be getting a tax bill every year on the home. If you will call them and ask them if it is being taxed as real or personal property that will work, but probably it is on the statement.Charles

firstsource
OK, sounds like it is "real Property", now once it is tied to the land then you are in good shape to finance it. Contact a mortgage broker/loan officer and they should be able to qualify you and get you the loan.Charles
donnak
What do you mean tied to the land? My husband already went to the bank, and they will not refinance a mobil home. I am looking for company's that will refinance, or somehow get this in myu name and get the interest rate down. Thanks

Arden
Washington Mutual is a lender that has two main niches: construction and manufactured homes. If the home is only 2 years old and it has a proper foundation (post and pier with skirting or however the acceptable standard is in your area) you shouldn't have a problem.Arden
donnak
No foundation, no piers, just tied down and skirted?????
