Hi, been lurking for awhile. I have some questions that i hope some of you can answer. I've probably gotten answers to most of them by just reading posts, but I'd like to get most of them together so I can make some sense of it all.

First of all. My EQ score is 624

I have 2 older accounts in good standing. one with a high balance of 10,500. (don't know if that makes any difference)

The other was a fleet card that was paid off and then closed.

I have one cc account that I was an authorized user on (FUSA) that is a charge off 10323.00 (I wasn't aware that I was responsible for that account) Thus my username.

A few other small accounts that I can pay off in the next couple of months.

No inquirys in the past 6 months.

Also when does the "7yrs" start?

"What is date of status?"

I have a Mervyns Account that was a charge off as of 9/03 but was 180days as early as 97. This has a balance of 383.00. Should I try to work out a payment plan or something?

Thanks

sewstupid

What should be my first step?

Nope this is not your responsibility what so ever... dispute this with the CRA saying... please remove, never gave authorization to be added to this account.

Ok, here is link to Swede explaination on this part... I fear that I confuse people way to easy when I try to explain. lol

On your second question there - date of status just means the last time the company sent information to the CRA concerning this account. It does not actually bear on the data within the account. Just gives you a date to know when they last reported.

I have a Mervyns Account that was a charge off as of 9/03 but was 180days as early as 97. This has a balance of 383.00. Should I try to work out a payment plan or something?

First send a debt validation letter to the collection agency requesting them to provide you with payment history on this account as well as proof of ownership to this account. See first what they provide you on this matter.

Looks here like they did some re-aging... stalling off the charge off date - then it looks like at some point you must of paid it back up for a period of time then it went right back and finally charged off. They are not suppose to re-age without your agreement - pre charge off period. So would be my guess that you must of been periodically making payments on this account to extend the life on this. But still that is some considerable time to have passed just to now reach charge off this year.

Thanks, Kb,

Nope, I haven't paid anything on the Mervyns since about 97, don't know exactly. Still with Mervyns(RNB) not a CA. I don't think.

Thanks again

Can you copy the trade line exactly as is without the account number...

Wonder if that 9/03 just means the last time it was updated by the Creditor... and not the last activity date.

So if it turely has charged off in 1997 when you last paid.. this should expire in the next year depending if you know the exact last month in which you paid I can tell you this part.

Tradeline Reads:

Status: Account charges off $383.00 written off. 383.00 past due as of 09/03

date opened ------------------ type -------------------- cred lmt

06/97 -----------------------revlng -------------------- NA

Reprt since ------------------------ Terms ------------------- High Bal

09/03 ------------------------------ NA ------------------ 383.00

DOS ------------------------------ mnth pmt---------------- recent bal

09/03 ---------------------------- 0$ --------------383.00 as of 9/03

Lst Rep------------------------- Responsibility -------- Recent payment

09/03 -------------------------- Joint w/ *** ---------- 0$

Account History

Charge off as of 09/03

Then under balance history, it has listed every month from

383.00 08/2003

383.00 07/2003

on down to

383.00 10/2001

Will check and see if I can find out when last payment was made

Thanks so much

Guess I should of asked you first - where you got your credit report from...

Direct from one of the CRAs.. or did you go through Privacy Guard or Worth Knowing, the last two really mess up on providing the nessasary raw data for seeing these things right off.

Who ever it is has done a good job, not to show what the actual last activity date is.

Then under balance history, it has listed every month from

383.00 08/2003

383.00 07/2003

on down to

383.00 10/2001

You answer is then somewhere in this part..

10/2001 being the earliest late reported - does it show a status next to it, like 30 days late?

All it says after that is :

"between 10-2001 and 8-2003 your credit limit/highbalance was 383.00"

This report came from Experian. I got this one because I needed addresses.

I went through all my bank statement back to 6/97 (husbands too) can't find anything paid to Mervyns. These were really emotional ly hard times for me. Lots of court fights with my kids. Lots of 1600 mile trips I didn'r want to make. There may not have been anymore than a payment or 2 made on this at all. Is there some way I can find out from RNB? Or should I dispute this?

Thanks so much for all your help,

Sewstupid

Forgot that Experian just recently changed their reporting format... that just beats all.

Think you my have luck with Equifax if you access a copy of your credit report that direction. I recently helped another member and remembered seeing their new format credit reports - to still be showing the last activity dates.

See if someone can confirm this is in fact still ture. I would hold off contacting this company until you can have a good estimate on SOL here. Or what it is they are showing claiming SOL... you may have some re-aging issues here. Just hard to know with these darn credit reports now a days.

Me again,

I got a report from TU and it has the Mervyns charged aff as of 11/2000. Which is still later than it actually should've been. Can I request a payment history from Mervyns? So that I can see the actual last payment.

Also, from what I've been reading I may be better off leaving some of these on, as I have so few TL's.

Thanks

Sewstupid

Still waiting on EQ

TU score is 588

Ok, wait until you get that credit report from Equifax... you may yet find another date to the mix.

Want to get as best of an idea before you actually try to contact the creditor....

I have seen radical differences between the 3 CRAs, so hope Equifax is closer to the mark.

Do you have back checks that you can request from your bank, to see that way?

Hi,

Got the free EQ report from the link posted on this forum.(also got the one in the mail yesterday) Strangest thing, It says the date of last activity on the Mervyns account is 4/97. The other one said it was opened 6/97. Go figure.

I was wondering, since this is only 383.00, should I try to get them to let me pay, say 50.00 a mo and keep this TL on my report, if they will mark it paid as agreed? I've been reading where having things removed may have an adverse affect on my score. The FICO simulator says that if I pay this balance My Fico score would go up about 40 or 50 points.

I did pay off Penny's. Said they would report as paid. Said it would take 6 or 7 weeks to show.

Also, I have tackled the 10,000 FUSA that is my husbands. Should I write them, call them, or write (or call) the CRA and tell them that I was only an AU on this card?

Thanks

SewStupid
