I was so scared I walked around the store for half an hour before i did it. I have fraud alert and was not sure how it was going to work. After the cashier sent my info i got a call on my cell phone, my fraud alert says to call this number as a code that its me applying. It was circuit city asking if i was at the store applying for the card. I said yes and she said she would call me back at the store. She called a few minutes later and asked me tons of questions, which card i had on my reports my credit limits my balances who was joint or was it individual, after 10 minutes of questions, (no lie either 10 minutes) she said, okay, I am going to send a fax to the store letting them know you were approved. YEA!!!!!!I asked the store cashier what my limit was I figured about 200-300 dollars. She wrote down my card number and said here you go, you can use this to buy today if you like and you have a 3000.00 limit.I almost passed out right there. I walked away with my number in hand and me and my girls went off hi fivin each other.I did buy a 32" tv and a stand to go with it. We needed a tv so bad. BF wanted me to get a big screen or atleast a sony or zenith. I was like no way, we are getting this 300.00 tv and i will buy the 5 year warrenty to go with it.Folks I have been reformed and truly improved. This is a visa card, I have not had a visa or mc limit over 400.00 since 1997. I also would have spent the entire limit in one day if this was even a year ago. I have truly learned my lessons and will not let the balance go over 30% no matter what the need is.Thanks everyone, you all have helped us so much to clean up our credit and to keep it clean. We now have the circuit city, will ad bf to it after the mortgage is closed, we have three secured cards with 250-300 limits, one hhbk mc with 400.00 limit, target with 200 limit, bf can add me to it i think in Nov or Dec and I am in hopes that they will up the limit a bit at the 6 month mark, and the dell, which I am going to pay off soon and see if i can add my niece to it and then get me off and let her have it. All we owe is 500 to circuit city now and 700 to dell. I think this will be enough to keep our numbers moving up.Where you been hangin you have not been on much at all since the board changed over.How are your numbers going for you and dh? Plus dh complains all the time about me being on the pc.....pfft....MEN!! As far as #'s, mine seem to have dropped a lil and DH's have gone up a bit. Figures! By the way I paid ALL(22k) but $2000 on my new car from the refi! It was the strangest thing writing a check for Twenty Two Thousand and NO/100! LOLI am so happy for your kids! They will have a new house with their very own rooms that they can truly call home! And after they graduate from college, they can move back in! I have 1 public record, 2 collections and 1 charge off on EQ with a 624. Don't know if the Bk is a factor with them. Waiting for others who have same story and were approved.I believe that Circuit City approves with a score of over 650. Correct me if i'm wrong. Will wait. I should get those numbers by months end or for sure into next month.When did you start the fight SIs? I started last Jan. Been on the boards since July. Enjoy the TV. Prob never happen again in this lifetime. Kids started packin up today!! They are really gettin into it. My oldest is now okay with the move and wants me to put him in the schools over there now and drive him till we move. Yeah right, thats gonna happen!! And once they are gone, no coming back, I dont believe in that. Only if they are working and contribute to the household, chores or food or money. I won't let my kids be moochers or bums. And if they get married and have kids, no way are they leaving the wife or hub and kids and coming home. I will tell them to stand on their own two feet and make things work. (Unless its a really bad situation, then we can work on things)Credit, thanks for the nice words. I don't really watch tv though. I do watch BOB cause he is just fine and I am from MI too so hes kinda a celb here. I usually keep my bedroom tv on and listen to whatever programs I like while I am typing and reading here. I started my main disputes around April of this year. My scores by May were all still under 500. I have not gotten a lot of deletes, though got a zillion for bf. I started rebuilding and that is where my scores started jumping.Morrow your scores will come right back up. All along you and I have pretty much kept close in the score department. (I just didn't get a c&d from ca like you did!!!! )Native,I will always have time for everyone here. I bet I get from 5-8 emails a day, a few pm's and even some catching me on instant messengers. I too have been to other boards, and I must say that none of them are more welcoming and humble than this one! All of them (message boards) share about the same info, but this one just is, and always has been the friendliest. (except for that one short period between switching when everyone was at each others throats and we lost a few members ) But other than that Im happy to be a part of this *family* and will continue to be a part of it as long as Im wanted. I'm glad to see your scores are moving up now. I have a friend who had a BK and his scores are now in the low 700's. According to him some people like BK'S because it shows you have now obligation. ... Da, I'm obvoulsly clueless on the BK stuff. But, anyhow he owns a house now, got a good deal on the house and is going to pull out money. He owns a business and I'm helping keep his credit clean. I figure he is going to be buying a lot of SOFTWARE and HARDWARE services from me in the future. The credit repair stuff is helping be build my business with good clients that are going to pay off in the future. People really see me an asset to their business and their family.I guess what I'm saying is that this going to help you get your house and people in SOCAL use the INCREASE in equity in their house to REFI and pay off credit card debt. I think the most amazing part of this journey has been watching myself and others wake up and realize that they don't have to fall into the debt trap-we can change our ways! And to help and encourage others to do the same--that is a really important service to society and you should be proud.Curious, how are you teaching your kids about credit? I was just thinking about mine the other day, and how I wish someone had taught me more. When I get really good, I was thinking about volunteering to be a speaker at the local high school for the class that is supposed to teach you about 'real problems' etc. My kids are pretty young, so I was wondering how the best way to go about teaching them early would be. One dental 100.00. One for something I have no idea what it is, might be emergency room for 150.00. Then i have two auto repos iib, three cc's iib. One installment shows iib but was paid off. I have one open cc with hhbk showing, and one open installment with 15.00 balance, one closed cc that has 50.00 balance, and then there are a couple of things that were paid and closed in good standing before 1998. It seems hard since most people with bad credit have survived so long with out it.I think hooking up with a mortgage broker is the way to go. The tv is the coolest, it has stereo settings, it even has bass and treble settings, and like 9 different closed captions, and the dvd player thingy can play data cds and video burned on cdrw's. I can put like 250 songs on a data cd and just use the dvd and play one cd all day long. This is great for when we move cause we dont have a stereo anymore, I just use the computer to listen to music now.
