Lisa
How long should old accounts be showing on our credit report? Does anyone have a form letter for getting old accounts removed after this time?Thank you!
timbercreektech
Old Negative lines can be removed after 7 years. But just because they may have a few late 30 day payments does not mean they may be derogotory. In lots of instances, they add to your credit history length, which is a variable used in your FICO scores. Old good lines can stay on indefinetly. A bit more detail would help us steer you in the right direction.
kb9tbq
Here is explaination from Swede on how to figure up reporting period on tradelines.http://debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=9129&highlight=Here is the general out line by the Fair Credit Reporting Act; shows break down for different types of tradelines.http://www.creditinfocenter.com/legal/FCRA.shtml#605Usually the Credit Reporting Agencies will only report positive tradelines for 10 years.. think TransUnion deviates from the other two to leave on longer. And also Equifax is the exception to bankruptcies... they will report chapter 13 as long as chapter 7 bankruptcies for 10 years. So each CRA will set their own guidelines as well on how they follow the FCRA.
