Equifax Split File ??? or lost positive trade lines.

Recommended Posts

Hello all. My PG score for Equifax took quite a hit. I did not check the FICO. I had a 30 point PG drop. I thought WT(Heck). I had 4 positive tradlines disappear. 3 old car loans and an old mortgage. They were always Paid as agreed never late. I do believe I have a split file. They were there Saturday. I do not have anything pending with EQ and haven't for about two months. So, what do I need to do to get the lines either back on? I do have electronic copy I got last Thursday on their free promotion, and a PG report from Saturday. I think its split though.

So, the darn 'Split Files' comes back to haunt me, I think. Who do I contact at Equifax? I've only used an occasional FICO inquiry and PG probably 200 times. I have shown no hard INQ's for several months.

Thanks all.

Split file, you just have to call them and verify the fact of the matter that your file split, it will take them a bit - and you will need to stop pulling your file so that they can remerge the file.

Imagine that it resulted in your case due to over large file from excessive pulls through PG and such monitoring services.

Other types of splits include comon name with another individual like father / son. And the 3rd is clerical error where a creditor could of typed in personal information incorrectly - good example is inverting social security number - and then on top of that seeing that it was a legitimate number belonging to someone else resulting in the mix.

Well, I sent the info to Robin. I get this.

Equifax does own the files of consumers who live in West WI. Please

contact the below office to further dispute your file.

CSC Credit Services

P.O. Box 981221

El Paso, TX 79998-1221

800-392-7816

www.csccredit.com

Thank you for allowing Equifax the opportunity to assist you.

Well I can't seem to get a live person by calling. Anyone have a name/number of a live body?

Well. first customer CSC rep asked for bio info. I got it. She then says I don't have a split file. Hmmm. She said that the original companies were the ones that deleted it. BS. She said it was not their fault. I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said one minute and rolled me over to a line and click. Hung up on me.

Am I going to have problems. This stinks. I do have a 10-13-03 credit watch report in electronic form. I just hope that CSC can do what Equifax can. But my initial experience has me worried.

Any advise.

I am so sorry to hear that happened --- sounds like someone placed your good accounts in dispute on purpose.

You should look up Demoncasterouter - long time member who has been missing for a bit now. But this is exactly what happened to him. His case was worse because the person responsible - put everyone of his accounts in dispute that were good.

Will see if I can't locate the old post on this matter.

I faxed an intent to file complaints w/ FTC, and AG on Friday (because CSC didn't do my disputes from 12/13) to Ms. Jezek, the complaint manager at CSC. When I logged on this afternoon, I had 9 new alerts on my privista credit watch. THEY DELETED ALL 9 OF MY GOOD ACCOUNTS!

I think I'm going to serve Ms. Jezek tomorrow!

Anyone else have this problem!

Here it is, I don't think we ever did accomplish finding out exactly what happened in demoncasterouter's case though.

Thanks Kb, Well I do have a message for a supervisor to call me. But, I have been able to get most everything done with snail mail. I do have all the documentation I need to spell out plain and simple facts.

Here is a question to all. If I have an affidavit from 5 creditors saying that they did not remove the listings, do I have any legal recourse with CSC? Also, what is the specific working relationship between Equifax and CSC?

Thanks

UPDATE:

I had a supervisor call me. I explained the problem and she said because of the number of soft inq's my older credit lines litterally got bumped off. I haven't had any HARD inq's on there for about 2 months. So the next thing to get bumped off were older trade lines. Unfortunatly, one was a paid mortgage, never late, an equity line, and 3 car loans. All very positive. I faxed here the pages from my free Credit Watch Report I got last Thursday to her attention. She said she will review it and take care of it. All in all a very plesant person to talk with.

It helped that I knew exactly what had happened. So beware all, bumpage on CSC/Equfiax can not only bump off HARD inq's. I will let you all know when the lines are restored.

Later Gator's

I forgot about that one, it has already happened to a few members concerning good tradelines being bumped from the credit report. It is just not often, usually the files will split first, before you get that far.

That is one reason - I am not willing to remove inquiries by using monitoring services. Don't want to risk bumping tradelines.

So technically - If a person was of the mind to clean off the entire credit file, they could just keep up the soft pulls and eventually have that happen. Have not seen anyone go at it with that intent yet, since many of them simple overlook this part - or simply don't know of this possibility.

Kind of makes me want to get some valid inq's and use them to find out when I am approaching this happen. Really, other than my last flurry with some HIPPA stuff on EX, I don't really need to monitor as much now anyways. I think the obligatory 1 time a month will work.

I think that why things bump anyways is a function of how the CRA systems access the data and use it to expolate into a score. There is some limitation as the amount of computations the programs can effectivly use efficiently so as not to hog CPU usage, whether because of bad progrmming or bad CPU usage, on those old legacy mainframe systems. I work with people who have programmed at Fair Issac. I have heard horror stories.

Myself I don't pull through any of the monitoring services for a few reasons:

1. I don't want to cause inquiries, or have problems with them listing inquiries as soft, I seen people post that they notice gliches from time to time causing the soft hits to actually be hard hits.

2. I can't stand the format of trying to read them - when I look at a credit report I want the raw data period! I rather have access to all the crutial details of each account.

3. Prefer having access to call in customer service to dispute immediately if need be. Not much on writing in disputes here, don't have the patients, and also I will make use of disputing on line if I can.

I usually pull my credit report every few months - but lately watching everyone else talk about their credit reports I have been pulling more this year. So far 3 times, will try to cut down on this before I really get started, lol

I periodically call the numbers to try the declined for credit option. Sometimes get lucky and have a free report mailed out. Plus watching out for other opportunities.

My only real reason for pulling credit reports - is my fasination with the credit scores anyway.

Do you think there is a way to get the softs deleted off your reports, to keep the bompages from happening in the first place?

I know like with Experian - a good many are going fraud alert to dispute off. And quite a few have had luck disputing. Myself I have tried 2 times now with TransUnion with no luck. But I am most likely going to have to change gears on my method. In the past I keep trying online disputes and they shut me down every time on that part.

But that might just be TU I will have to write into next.

Equifax, (CSC) in my area - I have not tired with them yet, but will use online and phone means first if I can.

  • 2 weeks later...

Here's the follow up. Well all of the items were inserted back into EQ CR. I went and saw how it effected my FICO score. Bingo, right back were it was before. They did send me a CR in mail. I had loads of soft inq's taken off. I think after all hard inq's were exhasted with bumpage, they then take your oldest tradelines and those drop. I was lucky to have noticed this and have a recent MYFICO copy of my EX.

In a nutshell, the things I was worried about were unfounded. I found someone live, who actually called me, and they did put everything back.

Later Gators.

EX is there, EQ ALMOST, now time to work on TU!!!!!!!
