swferguson
I finally went and paid for a UPS PO box to establish a new address. When I deleted my old address last month, my disputed BK7 was deleted from Equifax. I'm waiting for CHOD to begin next month so I can dispute the BK7 along with 4 other tradelines from TU and EX. Once my new PO address takes affect I will dispute the BK13. I've already sent my credit card payment with the new PO Box so hopefully by Dec the CRA will have updated it. I hope this works...trying to qualify for a jumbo loan next summer. I did qualify already but with conditions attached. Had to pay off BK13 before settlement. Wish me luck in my endeavor! curlytop
Get PO Box, change current creditors to it. Either wait for them to report all 3 CRAs, or send in proof of address, like a bank statement or cell phone bill that goes there. (Either way takes awhile and a lot of patience.)Then, call and remove current address. Then dispute as "Not Mine." Viola! Deletions!
swferguson
Just make sure the address doesn't say PO Box like the post office gives you. Get a box at UPS store or Mailboxes, ETC. The only thing I havent figured out is, with EX they list a geographical code with each address. So it tells you whether or not its a multi family or single house, etc. Will the geographical code be for a business? I know this will take some time, so I'm planning to have the new address in affect and begin deletions in a few months. By Spring I should have the BK13 off my reports, which is the biggest hurdle when qualifying for my new house.

Cascadesss
I have used mailboxes, etc for several years and it works great. Looks like a street address with an Apt number. All of my credit bills go there.Cas
curlytop
On EX mine says it is a "Multifamily" and an "apartment complex." Its not, its a MBE. I got it in a new building that was just built, so I don't think they know what to make of it.
lazy8
Just make sure the address doesn't say PO Box like the post office gives youWhy don't you want a PO Box? I've had mine for a few years now and it's seemed to have worked fine. When I first started the credit repair it was a little difficult to verify but all three CRA's now report the PO Box as my address. Is this a bad thing and why? thanks. goose
i currently have a PO box but have been considering switching to a MBE or something that has a regular street address. My question is--if i am moving to a new address next month, would it be just as effective to switch everything (bills, driver's license, etc) to my new address instead of paying for a MBE address? Thanks for all the help so far! swferguson
If you are trying to remove a current address of your report like me, then moving to a new home should suffice. Once you establish the new address on your reports then you can get the old one deleted. But if you'd prefer getting a mailbox that remains totally seperate from your home address then go for it. When I move I'm going to keep the mailbox I already have for all of my creditors. That way, I can change the address of the mailbox at any time, just seems easier to me. FYI, I called EX last Tuesday to get old address and 8 inquiries off my report. All of them deleted, I received the report today. Not even a full week and they updated already. Now waiting for CHOD to remove a few tradelines. My biggest hurdle is the BK Chapt13. Waiting for my new address to get onto report so I can get ready to clean up those aggravating hang ons. Been trying for a year to get 2 tradelines deleted but they kept verifying. Once I get this address deleted, goodbye Chapt13 BK and Motor vehicles bad check. curlytop
How did you get the inquiries off of EX?
swferguson
Sorry, my last post said EX, it was actually EQ. And keep in mind your effectiveness depends on the person you get on the phone. The girl was pleasant which is always helpful. Just called and said I've looked over my credit report and I haven't applied for any credit so I don't know why I have all of these inquiries on my report. She said which ones do you want to dispute? I went down the line and disputed everything back to 2002. Then I disputed an old address. That was it. Now I just sent in a letter to EX for Thanksgiving CHOD to dispute 5 inquiries, my telephone number and my driver's license. I would love to see how they could say they verified my driver's license. Hopefully they will just delete all of that.
SamIam
Maybe kb can chime inBut even if one does take out a MBE and update their addresses, doesnt a CR show a "previous address" as well?I would think that a CRA would just make your new address the current one and still keep your old address as previousI would imagine a CRA when reinvestigating would view both "current" and "previous" addresseskb? kb9tbq
If you get an address at mailbox etc then you want to update your drivers license to reflect the mailbox address. The next time you order your credit report - do this by mail and include copy of the drivers license (with the DL # marked out) and request that they update your address to what is shown on the drivers license. You need to update all of your current creditors to the mailbox etc address - Remove as much as you can on the current relationship to that address. Then come back seperately and dispute that the address you had listed before the mail box address is not yours and see if they will delete right on the spot.I think that is exactly what CurlySue did - and she moved right quick on them deleting he other address. Fastest turn around results I have yet seen in her case.****My self personally - when we moved to our new house I got a PO Box with the Post Office. I did though update the DMV with my new physical address, but have been able to for some months to order and have delievered to my po box credit reports.Think this month since all of the creditors have been updated to the PO Box - that I will try to bump off on DH's report all of his past addresses and see if I can finally see an end to the last of his medical bills that are reporting! SamIam
Then come back seperately and dispute that the address you had listed before the mail box address is not yours and see if they will delete right on the spot. Will they delete your previous address?I would think that a CRA would keep someones previous address on record considering people move aloteven though they will change your current address, whats to say they wont delete your previous address, and can a CRA still verify using ones previous address? swferguson
That's the whole point. Use the new MBE address, delete the old address.
kb9tbq
I know it sounds tricky, but I do think there are members here that have accomplished doing just that. The key is to tell them it is not your address period! Don't tell them by any means that you use to live there, just say it is incorrect and you want it removed it does not belong to you.And if you don't feel comfortable talking directly with them to accomplish this, then you want to write in your dispute on the personal information. goose
another quick question--would it be a bad idea to send a letter to the CRAs stating my new address, a copy of my new DL and then also disputing the old addresses all in the same letter?also-what address do you send dispute letters to? the same ones that you request a report from?thanks guys
