travelgrl
I have an account with them that is delinquent. That I can deal with. The local branch where I originally had the account has since transferred it to another branch in Charlotte. So now BOTH branches are reporting this to the CRA's. Equifax and Transunion show both accounts, same account number, same credit line, same amount delinquent-TWICE. I disputed the one with the local office and it came back verified. I called Citifinance and told them that they are reporting it twice which is incorrect. The local branch says that they are reporting it correct. I told them no you are not, you need to report it as account transferred or sold. Only one Citifinance should be reporting. As it appears on my CRA's it looks like I have 2 open accounts that are delinquent when in fact there is only one.I have put in a call to the District manager to get this resolved. I am not sure that will happen. What should I do?
DocDon
First thing to do is to stop talking to these phone reps that make $9 for answering hundreds of calls per day. Your situation involves some specific investigating, which they are not qualified or capable of handling. This goes for any account you have with any company out there.I wouldn’t even wait around for a response. You’ve waited long enough. Here’s the contact info at their corporate offices, and the address for the AG as well. I’d let Citifinancial know about the unprofessional response you’ve received from their representatives, and let him know a formal complaint has been filed with the AG.James Myers, Legal DepartmentCITI FINANCIAL INC300 St Paul Pl, BSP17C Baltimore, MD 21202Office of the Attorney General200 St. Paul PlaceBaltimore, MD 21202
