wearedummed
Hello All,Hubby and I are planning to purchase a car next summer. WE have a lot of late payments which is mostly what I would like to take care of. I want to get our credit reports and scores so that I know what I need to take care of but don't know which is the best site or way to do it to get for both of us. Any suggestions? I would prefer to get them on line as I need to do the letters ASAP. I would like to be able to see the same score and info that the lenders will be seeing. Thanks in advance. Most likely, you will not be able to see exactly what they will be seeing. Each type of industry has their own model which they put your information through. Example (Cars... Will be looking at past auto loans). You can get your reports and scores at www.myfico.com .
wearedummed
What about freecreditprofile.com? Is that any good? I checked out Fico.com. I would have to pay the $38.85 for hubby and for myself as well, right?
mrsmo914
If you are in credit repair for the long haul, I would not get the 3 in 1 reports. It is more expensive, I know but the information is better if you get each report separate. Then, as you dispute things, they will send you a copy of your corrected report-and you can use that report for the next dispute. So you pay once and get the best info and then get your subsequent reports for free. However, once you get into this, you will find yourself obsessed with your score (it happens to the best of us) and will probably pull from fico more than you need to so you can see the score. There is a thread in this forum that has discount codes for reduced price reports from fico. Here is a recent one http://debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10899&highlight=discount+codes
wearedummed
I just did the free trial at experian and it states 612 is my score. How accurate is that to what lenders will pull?
admin
Lenders use a different model than the one the credit bureaus. The reason: they are able to include such goodies as income, profession, time on your job, assets, etc. If you are strong in these areas, your score could be higher. However, the initial score presented to the lender will be the ones pulled from the credit bureaus, so these score are higher. Also, before paying for your credit report, please review this information, as there are many ways to avoid paying for a report. You won't get your score free, though, even under the new credit laws.http://www.creditinfocenter.com/creditreports/credtrpt.shtml
