sentry1170
hi everyone.I thought out all my options of settling debt, but even if they go with my offers i will give them all of my cash stash and then i wont be able to pay my rent and buy food. I have this stash that will last me for several months while i learn new technology. If I file for BK Ch7 will that affect my future employment?, because some employers do look at credit history and they might think that this deadbeat mismanaged his money, i dont wanna hire him. Also, is it true that after declaring BK, if you move and change address it comes off the report?Thanx. LadynRed
In general, unless you're going for a job that's in the financial arena or insurance or one where you must be bonded, BK in itself should NOT keep you from getting a job. It is actually against the law for an employer to discriminate based on a bankruptcy. As for changing addresses and getting a BK off your credit report - I suppose it could happen, but a BK, based on your SSN, is public record, so its just as much of a chance that it will stay on your reports, new address and all. aeri_james
I've heard from several people that if you are going to file BK, now is the time to do it because the economy situation, stock plunges, pension plan busts etc. that have all affected so many people is simply common knowledge. Not saying they will consider those things, but these past few years have been the worst for so many people all across the country with very little choice other than to file BK.
