DocDon
Dispute as you would any other negative entry. How old are they?
cincityplayer
They are about 3 years old, but the catch is the are paid collections because the utility co. requires you to pay an old balance in order to establish new service when moving. Even though they are paid they are still hurting my credit
DocDon
Then dispute the entry as "paid prior to collections", and write a letter to the utility along the lines of "per our agreement, the outstanding balance was paid in full. The deletion of the negative collection entry has not yet taken place. Please honor our agreement and contact the collection agency for immediate deletion." Give them the CA name and account number. See what happens with that.
