humdinger
After being recently approved for an FHA loan, I've started to look at the other costs involved in buying a home, namely property tax and howmeowners insurance.I've been told because I have a Bk, insurance is going to be really costly, any suggestions on where or who to shop for home owners insurance? amortgageman
Try State Farm, American Family (a little more expensive), or Farm Bureau.Since the majority of my clients are in Indiana, it made the shopping real easy. State Farm usually has the lower rates.
paw67
DH & I just bought a house and we switched from Indiana Farm Bureau to Amica. On our old home valued at approx. $90,000 we were paying nearly $800 per year base on a credit pull they did when we signed on with them in 1998. When we decided to look at other options we found Amica and they did not do a credit check. Our insurance on our new home is about $560/yr on a $130,000 home.Good luck!paw67
Tammy
The company we're with, Auto-Owners, has authority to surchage premiums on homeowners policies by 35% if your credit is really bad.
