ceowens
I got my Household Gold MC in the mail today! I also got an invitation to apply for Chase Visa. Anybody have experiance with Chase? Who do they pull? And, why am I getting these invitations when my name is on that list with the CRA to not have my file opened to solicitations? Did I miss the point of the list? cabledude
I've had a Chase Gold Card for 10 years. Ran into some trouble and they wiped out the lates and derog info when I paid in full. As far as I'm concerned you should try these guys. Always treated me right. MBNA and Fleet were quick to shut me down, but Chase worked with me. pjwife27
I wonder if HH shares info with other CC companies? Maybe thats why you got the offer. I have heard pretty much all good things about them also. I'll probably pee in my pants the first time I receive a pre-approval offer!

They will report a positive TL for the end of this month, correct? Maybe your scores will go up and you will start to see some offers. I am hoping for the same. Hope to see 3 new TL report for me in March (Orchard, Household, and Chevron). Chevron has not come yet, but I hope it comes this week. I plan to run out and buy gas, then come home and make a payment via internet just so they report. I am going to wait for TLs to report before trying the Chase offer. I have seen others here say they were turned down for not having enough revolving credit. And, until my new TLs report, I have NONE either. (ie. fraidy cat scared of denial and making excuses). I also have NCO in the ringer right now and am working on an ITS letter. Hope to see them magicaly disappear next month as well. PJ, what do you have left to clean up, if you dont mind my asking? If I can do anything to help let me know.
pjwife27
Hey owens, thanks!!Well, the only thing I have to take care of his Friggin' fingerhut! I have a charge-off account from 01 that I have yet to receive a bill from a CA. I really don't even want to pay it, but I will if they will ever respond to my letters asking them for account info. The ONLY reason I have awoken the beast is because DH and I want to buy a house when we move in less than a year. BUT,, DH went and talked to a mortgage co. and pulled our credit. They didn't say one thing about the fingerhut though. I'm guessing they'll just make me write an explanation. So, I'm just waiting right now. Oh and there is one more thing, my husband is "supposedly" a AU on that charged off account. (I KNOW I didn't add him because I hid the account from him) I know thats bad, but I was young. So I'm trying to get if off his CR.Everything else is paid, so there are just a couple medical CO that are paid I'm trying to get deleted. I'm getting there.I have to thank the board. I am so glad I found this place, I found it thru a poster on msn money! (they are mean over there, by the way)You seem to be doing a pretty good job at this process also, congrats on your efforts thus far!

I still have 2 CO, 3 CA as a result of the COs, and 4 medical collections to go. And, I have had ZERO credit since 1998! I guess the only thing supporting my scores is the fact that I had a good history prior to my divorce in '98. I have a couple of mortgages that look like they were paid off (the houses were sold) and the same with an auto loan. Then everything just sort of went to hell. Oh well. I guess thats the FICO mystery. How my report can look worse than your but have better scores is beyond me. Maybe its time you got really nasty on those last few stubborns. I am putting my first ITS letter in the mail today. Then, I'm coming home and starting to write the second! How are you approaching your medical collections at this point? pjwife27
You know, I'm sure its a lot of factors:1. Three of my department store cards had 30-60 lates from last year on them.2. The medical charge offs (there are about 6 of them!) are paid, but you know thats as good as unpaid. BTW, we had insurance but we were too stupid and young to know what to do with them so we ignored them, ARGGGH! we tried to re-file them and they took care of a couple, but some were so old they couldn't. It was very difficult and frustrating to call there (in GA) to our insurance co. because of the time difference and everyone has a different opinion. Some wouldn't help me, but they'd help my DH. Going to persue that more when we move stateside.3.Had a repo from 1999 that is paid in full. Thats just now reporting a zero balance after they finally changed it on exerian. Equifax deleted it and so did TU. Incidentally, my scores when DOWN after they deleted the repo! WTF?4. not enough revolving credit. Working on that, waiting for Orchard to show up and I just opned a military star account which just showed up. 5. I have like six old accounts that some say open and closed that are never late/paid from 1995, so I don't know.6. Oh and a bunch of inquiries in past six months. On the medical ones, Its been four months since I paid those off, so I'm waiting another two and then dispute them as not mine and see if they just delete them. Their paid and I'm hoping someone will be lazy and not want to verify.Hopefully when I pull my ficos next month they will have gone up a bit. I'm not worried, we've already been pre-approved for a mortgage. And I have enough money saved from our stint overseas to buy one car outright and finanace half of another. I don't really need credit for anything at this point, but it helps to have it, plus you feel more worthy as a human DH's credit is good except for the fingerhut, plus he's the one that works, so the credit apps mainly go in his name.Whew! sorry for the book. Thank you for asking about all this. You seem very knowledgeable. Good luck on your ITS- hopefully you can nail them! were they not validating?
