I faxed the letter today, a lady called me back and said that they cannot adjust accounts fo goodwill. She stated that by law they are obligated to report accurate information positive or negative.

So now what do I do?

Call them back, and ask for Annice Oakley, in the Executive Inquiry Unit.

Let them know you have a question regarding your account, and DO NOT discuss ANYTHING with ANYONE until you reach Annice.

futurehomeowner, where's your goodwill letter???

Here it is:

Request for Goodwill Adjustment

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter about a pressing request concerning a ActionBank Visa and Master Card negative tradeline in my credit files that I would like to have revised.

I have been a customer of Actionbankcard since 2000 when I began making payments on time. Last year I became disorganized with respect to, as you saw, making timely payments with Action Bankcard and noticed the 30 and 60 day late posting to my credit report. I fully recognize my responsibility with respect to payable accounts and have worked diligently to rehabilitate my relationship with ActionBankcard since that time. I recently made a payment of 800.00 to cover both Visa and Mastercard's balances to bring them current and positive.

To be honest, last year was a "wake-up" call for me regarding fiscal organization. Since then I believe I have learned the essential organizational and financial management principles I desperately needed at that point. Thankfully, responsible credit management is now reflected in my credit records which -- excluding the Visa and Mastercard late entries -- are positive.

I am about to shop for a mortgage, and it has come to my attention that the 30 and 60 day late notations from Visa and Mastercard's may preclude me from taking full advantage of the very lowest interest rates now available. Since those notations do not reflect my current status with Actionbankcard, I am requesting that you give me a second chance at a positive credit rating by revising those tradelines.

In exchange for a "Paid Satisfactorily" rating status reflected on my credit reports, I will promise to make sure payments to BankFirst going forward are always ON TIME and NEVER LATE. I have setup online recurring payments with my banking institution to guarentee that payments are sent electronically to you in a timely manner. I also spoke with your customer service representative and she revised my monthly due date to sync with my paydate to assure that I would always have the funds available for payment.

I sincerely hope that there is redemption and I beg you for such consideration. Please let me know if any additional documentation or agreement terms that would assist in reaching a positive outcome, and I thank you again for the time you have spent reading this letter.

I wish to thank you in advance for renewing your confidence in me and for giving me a second chance at a relationship with you, one that I am determined to keep spotless.

Please contact me with you your decision on this letter and then notify the credit bureaus of your authorization and update to change

Very hopefully yours,
