willy2004
“Social Security number variations” is the title of a section that each of us have on our Experian consumer report. Hopefully you don’t have any “SSN variations” on your consumer report. This is a §607( problem that may lead to file mixing and identity theft. Check your report and please post how many variations you have. To be sure, we each have ONE SSN and no more. This HAS to be a "maximum possible accuracy" issue. GBrand
I just got my Experian report and I have 2 SSN variations. They all look like they are miss keyed. What should I do?
hamletsdead
I just wrote them a letter saying they weren't mine and that I'd never applied or been granted credit using those numbers, and Ex deleted them within a week.
LovableGirl
So will all the information that was associated with the incorrect SSN be deleted as well and how will you know what information was associated with that particular one? My husband's exwfe did Ident theft on him so I am sure that is one she used.
willy2004
This is the associated product, "Social Search."http://www.experian.com/subservices/products/social.htmlNow you know WHY we have "Social Security number variations." Notice that it is PLURAL and the language that appears below the topic: "...as a security precaution." Of course.
willy2004
Shannon Stafford loosely referred to another consumer's SSN as a "variation of Social" during one tape recorded conversation. I will post some more of her famous quotes one of these days.
