DocDon
You're not going to know if the last place you used your card processes with First Data or not, so check your statements.Thousands Overcharged On Credit Card TransactionsSome Visa, MasterCard Customers AffectedDENVER -- A computer hardware problem caused more than 800,000 credit card and debit transactions to be double-billed or triple-billed, officials said. The transactions -- involving Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards -- took place at stores across the country, including Wal-Mart, the nation's largest retailer. A spokeswoman for the electronic payments processor First Data Corp. said the excess charges have been reversed, but that the reversals may not show up in some accounts until Tuesday. Anyone who made a charge with either of the two cards on Wednesday "should check their statements," she said. First Data is calling all of the affected customers and is publicizing a toll-free number of its own -- (888) 893-0626.

DocDon
That's First Data for you. They buy up all the smaller processors and then claim they're the best because they're the biggest.
