wdspeedbump
from what i've read on this site..it's best to look at both states and go by which one is longest, since the creditor/collector could possibly choose either state. right guys? Methuss
The majority of my debts are from NY(Buffalo), But I lived in NORTH CAROLINA now, so how does the SOL work for this?SoL is based on either the location the debt was incurred or where you currently live. There are other things that come into play. For example, a CA can only sue you in the state you live in for open-ended accounts, so the SoL where you live now would apply. For written contracts, they can sue in the locale the contract was signed and the SoL there would take precedence.
legend
The majority of my debts are from NY(Buffalo), But I lived in NORTH CAROLINA now, so how does the SOL work for this?Just to save research in case you havent already, SOL in NY is 6 years and CA's must be licensed in BUFFALO and NYC only in this state. So in your case make sure they are I find it odd that only BUFFALO and NYC requires this?
