Ok, I live in NC and the SOL for open accounts is 3 years. My last charged off CC has just passed the SOL. Does that mean that the CAs can't collect on the debt if they bought it??? Is there any way to use this info to get CAs off my credit report?

You respond to a CA by sending them a cease and desist notice that the debt is time-barred. If they put something on your CR they must remove it since they have no legal right to collect on a time-barred debt. Refusal to remove tradelines from the CR is a violation of the FDCPA and FCRA.

They also cannot sell it to another CA without telling the buyer that the debt is time-barred...that also violates the FDCPA.
