iamresilient
I am new to this. I just came across this website. And I paid my collection accounts last week--not knowing that I could have negotiated removal of account from cr. Do you think I can ask for removal after the fact??? Will my credit scores increase because I have paid all of my collection accounts? If not, where do I go from here? I have 2 good TLs=1 student loan and car....and the rest is now paid collection accounts...8 to be exact. The scores are low--less than 500. I don't have the exact numbered score in front of me. Anyway, I am thinking maybe I should get a secured cc??? Does anyone know of a secured or unsecured cc that will take less than 500 score? Is there a way to get paid judgements off of the cr? 1 from '99 and 1 from '

DocDon
Dispute them as "to be deleted per agreement upon payment". FICO offers very little (if any) relief for a paid collection. The only way to get your score up is to have them removed or they drop off.Dispute the judgments with the CRAs as you would any other tradeline. There are plenty of threads regarding secured cards - too many to list here. Do a search on "secured cards" and read through the posts to give you a better view of the spectrum.
