tmyers43
i opened several credit cards (5 to be exact) the last two years. i got into a big family emergency which ended up me maxing out most of the cards. for the first few months i was able to pay the minimum payment and now i just lost my job and absolutely can't pay anything at all. amex has sent my account to a CA and the rest haven't but they've been calling. what should i do with the CA? and how can i deal with this. should i just wait till they have my account as a charge-off? how long does that take? should i deal and make arrangement with the CA or the original creditor? pamelajean
Contact the credit card companies and see about their hardship programs. I know you don't want to talk to them, but it is better to deal with them than to have CAs and lawyers after you.
