feille
Hi all,I have a loan fron Cornell University in 1991 that as originally $2000 in debt, now listed on my credit report with a collection agency for $7000 as of last year, mind you. I sent a DV letter to Collection agency along with notice that they are not original creditor, etc. It is listed as an Institutional loan. Does this mean that I can treat it the same as other debt with respect to SOL etc.? They NEVER put it on my credit report until now (I always wondered about that) I have considered settling because I want to be able to get my transcript and go back to school, but CU passed all info on to CA, who was then very nasty. LynnInMN
I dont believe that there is a SOL for institutional or non-profit loans. The school can and will hold your transcipts hostage until you are paid off.
