I use TrueCredit Monitoring and recently rec'd a credit alert which described a new account has been opened at CPU/CITIBANK CBSDNA with fields:

DATE OPENED = none reported

ACCOUNT NUMBER = 31**

TYPE = (blank)

PHONE = (blank)

DATE REPORTED = none reported

I'm very curious. At the TrueCredit site it seems to provide info for dealing with fraudulent info in one's credit report but how do I handle something like this? AFAIK there have been no acct's opened by myself in the last 6 months.

i would call TU (thats truecredit right?) and get any and all info about this account they will give you.

then what you do next will depend on the info given. if you believe it IS fraudulent place a fraud alert and dispute the account as not yours, call citi and talk to their fraud dept too.
