Yemaya7
I have been having problems with RMA taking off THREE inquiries within a 12 month period for an account that was never even theirs! The lady that was handling my account will NOT respond to my faxes, CM, etc. So I figured that there email address is firstname.last name@rmainc.net. I emailed HER butt, some lady named Jennifer Brown (from FL Office of Financial Regulation), and Bob Crowe.I will email them every single day until they respond to me! DocDon
Did you report them?Maybe this will get their attention-The FCRA 'permissible purpose" rule:§ 619. Obtaining information under false pretenses [15 U.S.C. § 1681q]Any person who knowingly and willfully obtains information on a consumer from a consumer reporting agency under false pretenses shall be fined under title 18, United States Code, imprisoned for not more than 2 years, or both. § 620. Unauthorized disclosures by officers or employees [15 U.S.C. § 1681r] Any officer or employee of a consumer reporting agency who knowingly and willfully provides information concerning an individual from the agency's files to a person not authorized to receive that information shall be fined under title 18, United States Code, imprisoned for not more than 2 years, or both. Yemaya7
Where do I report them? My last sentence in my email was that I would report them to BBB and Attorney General. I will site that to them in Wednesday's email!
DocDon
BBB has no legal authority - they act as a mediator - better for when you buy shoes that fell apart and the store refuses to exchange them. File your compliants with the FTC and the Attorney General for the state they are located in.Go get 'em.

Oh well better late than never, I'm hoping this will shake em! The FTC does not take 'individual' action, meaning RMA will never know a complaint has been filed with the FTC. The FTC will hold that complaint with others like it, and move in when there is an obvious pattern. They seem to be getting very good about that lately. This is why you follow up with a complaint to the appropriate AG's office. The AG will contact them directly.
