I am trying to write a DV letter to ARS National and I haven't received anything telling me how much we owe. I do know the OC would I put that in or should I leave it out. Should I play stupid...LOL

How is this?

To Whom It May Concern:

Under the guidelines set forth by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act § 809. Validation of debts, I hereby request validation of the debt from your client , including any claim from your client that proves this debt is in fact mine, and the name and address of the original creditor.

Please provide me with the following.

·verification of why you are calling me

·What money you say I owe is for

·Explain and show me how you calculate what you say I owe

·Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay you what you say I owe

·Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account

·Show me that you are licensed to collect in my state

Further, you are instructed to cease contacting me by phone at my residence or place of employment as indicated by the FDCPA.

I would also like you to know that you are in violation of FDCA 809 In, which you must send a letter within the 5 days of initial contact and you failed to provide that. I contacted you Sunday August 15 2004 via telephone. I also let you know that you were not to call and you did not head that and called August 25th.

I'd also tell them they're being reported to the FTC and the AG for their FDCPA violation. Then I would follow through with the complaints.

At the very least, CA's cannot be allowed to continue to violate the FDCPA without somebody of authority knowing about it.
