myricksw
My DW has a judgement from 3-98. I am going to pay it finally, but my question was, "Is the TL going to be there for 20 years reguardless if it is paid or not?" Fl SOL for judgments is 20 years. DocPC
It will drop off after 7 years......as long as they don't re-age it.
myricksw
This is what is said in the "how long can items stay on your credit report" section, "concerning a lawsuit or a judgment against you can be reported for seven years or until the statute of limitations runs out, whichever is longer;" Can you point me out a source that says that it should fall off in seven years. Thank you very much.

Recovering Attorney
The FCRA says it can remain on your credit report for 7 years. So it will appear for a few months, even as a paid judgment. Make sure the judgment ceditor files the satisifaction piece and gives you a stamped copy. You could take the stamped copy and see of the CRAs will delete it now, rather than later.
