Updated info by OC (FIRST USA) but charge off date changed?

Ok, this one OC that has charged off in 1998 is listed so many different ways on my credit reports that it is frustrating! On one report the DOLA is 2/1998, on another 2/1999. Also, this account is listed on ONE CR as 5 different accounts, but all under FIRST USA. And each account has a different credit limit and balance. Now since I have disputed, this is the same OC that sent me the two affidavits, one of FRAUD and one of ACCEPTANCE of LIABILITY. Either they want me to sign that this account is fraudulent or that I accept this debt as being mine. I am clueless on how to proceed. I know the SOL is expired, however, the way this OC is reporting all this info to my CR is extremely detrimental to my score. What is the best way to get this OC to report this account as one account and accurately? Do I need to call them or write them? Or do I keep disputing it through the CRA as inaccurate info? Thanks. :?

do you have proof of the correct DOLA?

if so, i would be inclined to put the OC on notice that they are reporting incorrectly, that is not allowed, they have 30 days (or whatever time frame you like and is reasonable) to fix the problem. otherwise you will need to take the issue further.

or depending on how far you are willing to take this, threaten to sue, and follow thru if they dont get their act together.

and ignore the affidavits they want you to fill out.

Sorry it took so long to report back....

Yes I do have proof of when the account went deliquent. I found an old box in my attic over the weekend that contained records of these old accounts. I was looking for receipts to prove I settled on some of them, but could not find those. We assumed for years it was lost during a move. But I did find a bunch of old letters that the OC's sent me telling me how many months it was past due and blah blah blah I better pay or they would send to collections blah blah blah. All these letters, from 5 different OC's, all have the same general dates on them, which is May 1998 - August 1998. That is when I was late on all my credit cards. I never caught up with some, and some I settled with. The one I was complaining about, the FIRST USA I did not settle with. The last payment they received from me was sometime in the summer of 1998. The DOLA should be 1998, but on one CR it shows 2/1999..I think this maybe when they eventually charged off. But I thought they had to do it in so many months of deliquency. Anyways, the debt was mine, however, it is past the SOL. I am not paying. What I want however, is that they report this accurately. Because if the true DOLA is summer 1998, then the 7 year rule means it comes off next year. What to do? :?

ok, im not an expert in COs or DOLA, but i think that the DOLA would be the CO (last activity on the account was them charging it off) which is different to the date of first delinquency.

i hope someone with more knowledge will jump in and correct me if i am wrong.

but you still have serious misreporting issues, i would write them and tell them what laws they are violating by continuing to report inaccuracies (see above). and continue disputing directly with the CRAs too.

I am in the same boat as you, also with First USA. First USA has it listed as a charge-off, but with a balance. Premier Asset has it listed with the correct DOLA, but they sold it to Asset and still show a balance. Then Asset has it listed every which way under the sun, even one with no name or date on it, just an amount. I do not really want to send the CRAs a copy of my 2000 credit report showing DOLA, but am clueless as to what else I can do as far as the CRAs are concerned. Not like I can say "not mine" - if anything works for you, would you please let me know? Thanks.
