Patty
Hope Im in the right section now..sorry about that! Ya so we have this stamped letter and Ive did some research here on this website, and if Im reading correctly I can make a copy of this release (satisfaction) of judgement and send it to the CA or CR and they will take it off? The letter states that this judgement was released last June 20th and Im just now getting a letter? Is that normal? Thanks
quepasoksl
I had a satisfaction of judgment letter, which sounds basically the same, you paid, it was settled. Two of the credit bureaus removed the public record info, one of them updated it to a 'paid' judgment. I disputed it with all three online or via a letter(sorry can't remember which) but that was the result. The one that was left on the credit report didn't seem to affect the credit score, so I'm not sure that having a paid judgment is any worse than having it removed. I would make the copies and submit a letter requesting removal of the information and see what happens. Good luck!!
Recovering Attorney
It could be a satisfaction. Or it could be they are releasing the lien of their judgment from certain proprty you own, such as your house. Did you pay part of the judgment off? Patty
It is a satisfaction and it shows as Paid on dh's CR. So what your saying is that it wont improve your score if it came off? I didnt think it would but, I still would like it off. Now does everyone that pays their judgements off get a satisfaction letter or does it vary? Thanks
Patty
Do you know where I can find a letter of removal of dh's judgement? Thanks
jerseygirl
You should definitely try to have all evidence of the judgement removed, if you can. Some lenders and credit unions will deny you merely on the fact that you have had a judgement, satisfied or not.
Patty
Thank You! I am going to try so will see. I have another question if you dont mind? When a judgement is paid does the creditor have to send you a satisfaction letter or no? Cause Im thinking this was luck..who knows.
