newyorkchick
I don't know if this is good or bad news until I speak to my Loan Officer, but I called HHLD Bank this morning. I was all set to pay off this debt that the Loan Officer found on my credit report. Well, HHLD could not find me in their system. Neither the account number or my social security number could be found in their systems. They have no info about me or the account that I'm trying pay off. Of course they wouldn't put it in writing. I went straight to the online dispute center on Transunion to fill out a dispute form. Now I'm wondering -- Will this hold up my mortgage? Has anyone been in this predicament? All advice greatly appreciated.Thanks.
amortgageman
Have your loan officer order a payoff from Household on the account. They will then either find this account or will verify that no payoff exists.I mean, Like credit reporting errors do occur every once in a while. BTW, I thought I had asked before in a previous post, but will ask again,....Is this your account?
newyorkchick
no, from the moment my mortgage company brought up the account i had a feeling this wasn't my account. i have a pretty common name, so it might be a reporting error.
