mimbee
Would it be okay to send letters to creditors to stop calling me. I am in the process of waiting to settle, I'm figuring six months, and the calls are driving me batty. Would it hurt my chances of a settlement if I asked them to only contact me in writing? DocDon
There's nothing wrong with requesting all communication be done in writing given the situation. It will not affect your settlement.
Recovering Attorney
You will not offend anyone by sending a C&D, or asking they write you instead of calling.
mimbee
Just one more quick question...Is it okay to send a letter to the original creditor? My debts have not gone to collection yet.
direred
Yes, it's OK.Original creditors may not HAVE to abide by it, though. In California, they do (but you don't state where you are).
