jenyphur
Anyone ever had a CA refuse to send you any form of validation because I know live in a 'Closed State". What exactly does that mean?
DocDon
It's not a refusal to answer your DV. This is what I found:Over thirty states have specific laws that require out-of-state collection agencies to be licensed, registered, hold a certificate of authority, and/or be bonded if doing business in that state. If a consumer residing in a closed state DV's a CA, they are legally required to simply state they are unable to assist you or answer your request and refer you back to the OC. Sounds like they can't answer your DV because they are blocked from collecting in your state. Sounds like ground for deletion to me. Anyone else?PS: No, I didn't find what the closed states are - see if we can't find info on that.
jenyphur
She did mention that I was going to have to go back to the OC. It's my understanding that Drs can't actually file collection accounts, they have to go through CAs. I wonder if the same holds true for Urgent Care/Hospitals also. If so....the OC would have to send my accounts to an CA here in AZ. Hmmm..I seriously doubt they are going to do that on these accounts because they are very small and qutie old. Interesting. I've got other 'medical' accounts from other CA in Washington. I'm going to see what they have to say. This might be a REALLY good thing.
