zerwas
I have a capital one account that has been charged off and I wanted to see if someone has a name or number to capital one that I can talk to in order to get this account reabilitated. I had two other accounts with them that had been charged off. I received an offer in the mail to reopen those accounts with the current balance on them. When I asked about the third account later on I was told that this was a promotional offer only. Any contact info in regards to reopening or reabilitating this account is appreciated. Guest jeeptravel
You might consider offering them a payment plan if the offer was only a promotion. Tell them you want to make it right, and if you make payments as agreed they should agree to amend or remove the CO.Of course, getting the card rehabilitated would be preferable, but either way you reestablish yourself as a good credit risk and your score will improve to get more credit later if you want it. Good luck, let us know what you find out.
zerwas
I had inquired about the repayment plan previously and all they would do is mark it as Paid Charge Off which doesnt help me any. The SOL on that account is over in another 4 month's and you would think that if they had a chance to collect on it that they would be able to do something for me. I have called Capital One once every two month's to see if this was actualy true that it was a promotion. Now 15 month's later of calling every two month's I think that the CSR lied to me and just didnt want to follow through.
Guest jeeptravel
There is a difference between a CO with a balance owed and a CO marked PAID. True that with regards to your score, the CO will ding your score -BUT- if you apply for a mortgage, for example, the new would-be lender may not do business with you until you pay the CO balance. If the balance reads as zero on your reports, it's less problematic. Anywayz~ Good luck resolvng this.
