user33658
Contacted the court house and they faxed documents on a judgement my DH has. We never knew about this judgement until we applied for a mortgage several years later. Well.....the address thats listed on the "Certificate of Judgement" is an address that DH has never lived at however, they do have the former address listed correctly. Who do you contact to see what address the actual judgement papers were served to and who signed for them?Is that grounds to have the judgement vacated? Is it work it to pursue this since we have already paid the judgement ( as a means to qualify for the mortgage)? willingtocope
Without more details on what the judgement was for and so on, its hard to give an opinion...but...If this was a judgement that you have the slightest doubt about it being for a legitimate debt you owed, I'd suggest you do what you can to have it vacated and the money returned to you. In the credit world, we make enough mistakes of our own...we don't need to take the consequences of those commited by others.
user33658
Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to think I was on the "ignore list".The judgement was from a Gas & Appliance store. For what, I don't know.We would really like to have this removed if there is any chance. willingtocope
Let me suggest then that you re-post your question in the "Is there a lawyer" section down below. The legal minds there will give you some hints on what to do...
