Question on Inquiries

I have been reading the posts on this board for a couple of weeks now. I have a question on inquiries. I thought I read somewhere on the board that non-employment inquires are only suppose to be on your CR's for one year. I have several that are older than that. My question is this, what is the best method of getting these off??

Also, I had a Best Buy card that I just found out that Household (who owns the card) cancelled. EQ shows ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CREDIT GRANTOR CHARGE, EX Credit line closed-grantor request-reported by subscriber, and TU shows Canceled by credit grantor. I am still paying the balance off, infact I didn't even know that it had been cancelled until I pulled my CR. I was only late once in the entire time I had the card. I need some advice on handling this one. I really don't want these TL's showing this way on my CR and bringing it down.

I just went through my CSC credit report with a fine toothed comb. There are some inquires that are preceeded by either an PRM or an AR. What do these mean. I'm guessing that PRM is used by companies for promotional things. Though the AR has me completely mystified.

They're nothing. PRM and AR inquiries just mean, like you said, promotional types and account reviews, either by a current creditor or someone looking to offer you credit. They dont count against you.

That is a good thing to know, because there are a LOT of them.
