zerwas
Who here as had a capital one card that you had to report lost or stolen? The reason I ask is I am wondering if they continue to report your past history on your new card number or if they asssign you a new card number and show the original date it was opened but only show what currently is being now reported? Josh Mcgrath
I lost mine a while back. They continue to report everything. And they note "Lost or stolen card" on your credit. Then they start over fresh with a new account number and new tradeline entry.
zerwas
Did you notice if your fico score droped / rose / or stayed the same when the new account was reported?
credithelp
I had one that was lifted online so cap1 closed the account number and gave me a new one. On the report it stated that it was lost or stolen. At that time i checked my score a week before that and then the next month and it went up about 10 points on the next month so if my points did go down it was temporary. I asked equifax about it and they said that the account closing will not affect your score as it normally would, but the info that was there previously will continue to be a part of the score. paw67
I had 1 that was reported lost or stollen about 2 years ago. Cap1 just cancelled the old card & issued a new card w/new number but the tradeline remained the same so I didn't lose the history.paw67
