willingtocope
Not to steal someone elses topic, read...http://www.debt-consolidation-credit-repair-service.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=21010Now then, what does this do to recording laws? If you're in a one-party state, and they call from there...what's the law?

anti-something
i think that ones a question for the FCC willing, all i could find was laws relating to taping within the USA.prolly best to tell em you are recording the call and if they keep on talking they accept the taping. Josh Mcgrath
but they are still representing an American company in an american state. I would just abide the state laws that you live in. Like Texas. ONE PARTY STATE! woohoo
willingtocope
I'm kinda thinking this falls under federal law...one party all the way.
Biddybaby
My understanding is whicever state offers more "protection" is the law you go by.Say a CA calls you. They're in Maryland (2 party state) and you're in Texas (1 party state). Maryland offers more "protection".
willingtocope
Well the news story mentioned in the original post was to the effect that some CA's have begun to use "off shore" call centers. So...you might be hassled by someone in India or the Phillipines. What recording law applies then?
DocDon
I don't think the laws apply to where they're calling from so much as where they're calling to. I would have to assume your state laws dictate the recording of calls no matter the origin. Just my thought. Here's a nifty link to each state's recording laws:http://www.rcfp.org/taping/states.html
