sherry
This web site is a God Sent. I have been trying to clear up my credit report for years. I have files 3 & 4 inches thick. Priase the Lord I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. thank you so much.I had a citibank credit card 1994. I lost my job and closed the account. Capitol One has the debt now. I tried to do a debt validation and the cr said the Capitol one said it is a good debt. I didn't have the card with Capitol One. The 7-year period for the debt has expired. I am going to try and resolve the debt. I just want it removed from the credit report. It goes off then comes back with another company. I tried a settlement with Citibank in 1996 and they declined. I don't have the money to pay them at this time. Will work out a settlement when I get my taxes this year. How do I do a debt validation on this Capitol One account with the CR? I sent Capitol One a debt validation letter when I sent one to Experian.thanks for your help
kbean
well first off, figure out your SOL. If it's pas the SOL you are okay. And if it is past the 7years, it cannot be on your credit report. If in fact the 7 years are up, you should call the cra and tell them, see what they say.what do you mean when you say "good debt"? click on the links above about debt validation. There is also a forum for debt validation you might want to search. If worse comes to worse, threaten to sue. you'll find those directions at the link above as well.good luck. sherry
the phrase "good debt" was used by the cr rep at experian phone line when I called. They said that had verified the debt with Capital One. I have never had a card with Capital One. How do I make them take the notice off the credit report.Capital One bought out citibank. The debt with citibank exceed the 7 year limit.thanks
