alfaboy
Hi all,I disputed a 30 day late on a mortgage that was paid off. The credit reporting agency instead of correcting the error just removed the entire mortgage, this lowered my score - I guess I can see why, but is there any way to get that put back on with the error removed? Thanks! retmar
If the late was true, the chance of getting it reinserted without late is slim. This is because you would have to contact the reporting party and ask them to do this. Of course, they would include the late. Back to square 1.A possibility of what happened is the reporting party did not respond so the CRA just deleted. This happened to me on my TU. I showed them, by enclosing a copy of a letter, that the reporting party had already requested the late be deleted, but, for some reason, they failed to honor the request. So, they just deleted and sent me an update.
alfaboy
Thanks for the quick response, and after double checking I found that I disputed a 30 day late on 2 mortgage loans that I had during late 2000 until 2002. Equifax knocked them both off completely and I now have a FAKO ("PLUS") score of 621. I'm using the mycreditinform.com site which I think is Equifax's online site.On TrueCredit which I signed up for to get the Trans Union report, they have my score at 630, which has both of the mortgages with the lates on them. Same thing (630) for creditexpert.com which is what I use for experian's info. Since they are a couple of years old, should I bother trying to put them back on or just work toward new credit. This is what I've done in that arena:I have 2 CC's that I am now an authorized user for from my Mom, both of which she's had for over 5 years, with one she's had for 15 years. The one she's had the longest is from MBNA ($5000) but isn't showing up on my CR even though they pulled an inquiry way back in February. How can I get this one on my reports? It seems like it would help me since my I've only had my one credit card for 2 years and it's only for $300.Sorry about the long post but I'm lost about what to do, any suggestions?01/2004 score: 610 10/2004 score: 621-630 ( a little frustrating)
retmar
With those suggested scores, and the fact the lates are more than 2 yrs old, I doubt if they will hurt you that much. But, if you have not been late since, you could send a letter to the Mortgage Company and ask them to please remove as you have realized your error and for the past 2+ years, you have shown you are reliable. You could include you wish to shop for a new home within a short period and that due to the lates, you may not receive the best interest rate available, AND, you had, due to their professionalism. decided to give them first crack. You get the drift. Sometimes this will get them removed. I would not dispute them with the CRA's as they could end up getting the whole TL deleted which will hurt the score more than the 2 lates. As to the AU CC, you can send the OC a letter and ask that they report for you. Some CC companies do not report AU's. More times than not, an AU will get listed as a rep at the CRA will notice the relationship, such as DW or DH, and add the TL jst because. The whole thing boils down to IF the CC company enters the AU's name on the tape.
