Guest jeeptravel
Now for the sad part:Denials (stated due only to BK):Chevron CardDiscoverSears (CITI)Exxon/Mobil (Monogram Bank)GM Card (Household)My BK was filed 1/04 discharged 4/04. At time of denial, my scores were all three around 600.Hope this helps you avoid senseless inq's.On a happy note, I received a pre-approval from CAP one and they are verifying my address info. Called and they said this was likely a sign of acceptance. So, until I post otherwise CAP1 letter may be BK friendly.Have a beautiful day.JT

blueskies
We filed 9/17/04 and should be discharged around 12/27/04. And rebuilding our credit worries me more than the BK has! It's great to see your success so soon after your discharge - hopefully others will see this and contribute as well!!!
Guest jeeptravel
I know how you are feeling. The best thing to do now is just avoid credit for a while. You might consider trying a payday loan each month. It will give you the experience of getting a loan and paying it back in full every month. That's what we did and now that we have cards, it makes it easy to replace what was once a payday loan with our own credit cards. BTW we always pay them in full every month. We are disciplining ourselves to do that. If your income is good, you'll be in good shape to get all the cards and credit listed in my signature file below. If your income isn't good, be careful. You may slip back into debt, and this time there'll be no way out. If the income is an issue, I highly recommend student loans and returning to school. Many many well paying jobs require education. Besides that, student loans don't require good credit.Good luck! I hope this string will help encourage those going through BK stuff.jt
