Guest jeeptravel
Is it possible?Since I've read so many posts about Orchard being a good card, I decided to throw caution to the wind and risk an inquiry. I will post later to see if it's possible to be approved for both cards in such close app. proximity.
divinczech1
JT let us know what happens! I just tried the same deal with my wife. Got her a HH and the applied for Orchard. They gave me the 10-14 day junk?
Guest jeeptravel
Will do. Since my wife and I pay the credit cards off in full each month when I get paid, the extra credit of an Orchard Card would not be a huge excitement to go out and spend. Nonetheless, it would open up another CC on my report thus improving my appearance to mortgage lenders next year when we plan to apply. I'll report the results on my Orchard app. this week when I find out (with the Household cc it was only 4-5 days I heard via email) in case anybody else is interested. It does seem odd that Household would first approve a HHLD bnk MC and then a month later an Orchard for the same person, but I think that may happen here. -D
goingunder
I have a HH that I had for 2 years. Applied for Orchard and was approved right on line when I applied. Not sure for how much - assuming just $300.
Guest jeeptravel
I called today to see if I was approved for the Orchard card. The operator put me on "extended hold while she looked at my application."When she came back she told me I was denied because I already have a CC account with Household and the Orchard is a "sister account" to that. I then asked her if I could seek a credit increase on my existing Household MC and she said I would have to call credit services.I have heard several people on here who have said they have both, but unfortunately for me, that doesn't seem to be a possibility. No worries though, I am happy with the Household card, it's the bomb.JT
kbean
I am happy with the Household card, it's the bomb.JTIf you don't mine, what's the scoop with the HH card? Decent rate?
Guest jeeptravel
It's 18% APR, but I pay it in full every month before interest accrues. I like the internet site for downloading csv statements onto my laptops and the customer service is really great. They increase credit periodically when you show good history. For me, coming out of a BK 8 months ago, this card is the best. I probaby wouldn't recommend it for someone in 700's though.-JT

MannyL
Ironicly for me, I was canceled by Household for not paying and then ona debt payment plan by them (Stopped paying because they wouldn't agree to remove over fees and I could not get below my limit so I started racking up late and overlimit fees to get them to want to settle) and while this was going on I was approved for Orchard
Guest jeeptravel
lol. Well I had just BK-ed on Household 6 months prior, so I guess bad credit is their game.JT
jeajack21
If you have applied and been approved for a Household Bank credit card that has an annual fee in the last year and half, you will most likely not get the Orchard Bank credit card. This is just because Household changed their rules eternally. If it is older than that, you will most likely be approved. If your BK has been discharged for six months or more, your okay in Household's books!!! Household also does not blacklist, they do not consider their other credit cards for approving, declining, or credit line increases unless they are simply reviewing them on the credit bureau. Lastly, if a person is wanting to build up their credit and would like a large credit card, a person could apply for an Orchard Bank secured credit card, and after about a year or year and half or two years, a person can request to unsecure the credit card, so they get their money back and it changes the reporting on the credit bureau to unsecured.
