hotdami812
I recently disputed some inq with Equifax, the reply they sent was inq are a matter of record, as far as I am concerned this is part of the dispute process which includes inq, according to the fcra ( any item). any advice on where to go from here. My score took a dump as a result.
Guest jeeptravel
I could be wrong but, it seems ike they are telling you the inquiries are a matter of record. That would be true. Then you need to tell them you are disputing them as not initiated by you. Identity Theft is a huge problem and if they aren't assisting you in removing what you are calling a false inquiry, I would see that as a major problem. Talk to morrow, she seems to know a lot about disputing inquiries.

kbean
i called them up and asked to speak to their fraud department (all pissed off sounding) and then i freak out on their fraud department and tell them that I would never shop at pier 1 even if you paid me and that i didn't apply for that shiz.... and so on.... and then i act like i don't know what a fraud alert is and hint around to it like, "what keeps people from doing this? what if they received a card? will i be charged?" it's like 'nutcase' only for inqs.worked for me with ex and eq. TU i only have 3 inqs.good luck
hotdami812
The letter came from Equifax, I never had a problem removing inq's until recently. I have a couple of letters that I use but never had a problem before.
