gravelgirl66
Aren't those two like the worst? Anyways I know I am having to file bankruptcy, (pending judgement)-- but I am wondering I know that If I did it now, the trustee would try to take my rather LARGE refund. I am wondering though by letting my husband claim our children, and filing seperate from him, would they be able to touch it then? I am anxious to file due to possible law changes.-- And before my judgement kicks in (if it does I am fighting tooth and nail)-- Can they still get the refund if I am the sole provider? p.s. i live in floridaThanks so much- -and keep up the great work informing the Average Gal. LadynRed
If the tax refund goes to your husband and not you, the Trustee can't touch it. am anxious to file due to possible law changes.-- WHAT possible law changes ?? Congress is done for the year and the BK bill is dead - for the time being anyway. If Bush gets back into office, expect that BARF bill to be resurrected and pushed. Can they still get the refund if I am the sole provider? Yes, its considered income regardless of your status as sole provider.
gravelgirl66
Thanks so much LadynRed. I have successfully been able to fix some things on my husband's credit ONLY b/c of this site. But mine is a lost cause for sure. I am sure it sounds crazy to be worried about that so much, but I have alot of plans for that money, and I don't want it to get sucked away. Its my chance to get things back on track.--Thanks again--
