Bane
I would like some advice on how to deal with a collections issue. I had a Visa card with Circuit city (aka FNANB). The account was sold or the company bought by Fleet Bank, not sure which. I am admittedly one month late on paying my bill. Yesterday I received a collections letter dated Oct. 6 saying that Penncro Associates has been retained to collect the debt. As of the Oct 6 date on the letter I had just gone 40 days past due. I admittely missed the payment, not on purpose. How should I handle this? Thanks
Fade to Black
Call the OC and see what they say and fire off a DV letter to Penncro and they should fold and go away.
Recovering Attorney
FNANB sold their cc portfolio to Fleet. DV the collection agency. Check your CR. Chances are it isn't on there now. I had an FNANB account that was sold to Bank One and it dropped off my CR
