Tom S
I have a judgment against me for $39,000. It just showed up on my credit this month. BUT I paid off the judgment in June 04’. I had set up payment arrangement through a collections company. It was a corporate American Express card. AMEX sent me to collections and made payments for 4 months and paid it off.So how does this work, will the judgment be on my credit forever? It DOES NOT show paid on my credit, but I called AMEX and they confirm a $0.00 balance. So… what do I do? Please Help… With sugar on top!!!I looked around the forum for the answer but I did not see exactly what I am looking for…
Recovering Attorney
You need to get the lawyer who sued you to satisfy the judgement. Now, that will make it a "paid judgment" that will stay on your record for 7 years. You could negotiate witht ehlawyers to have teh judgment vacated, which would get it off your CR.Or, you could start disputing with "not mine", " paid before reported" to teh CRA and hope you get it removed.
