Bev3180
The CRAs report Ch 7 BK for ten yrs and Ch 13 BK for seven yrs. Anyone know why? As I read the FCRA it is ten for all BKs.
jeglove2
In Ch 13 Bk most creditors will usually be paid something as Bk 13 is considered a debt reorganization plan that's paid over 3 to 5 yrs. The major CRA's and other organizations look upon this as more "honorable" and therefore only report for 7 yrs. In actuality, you can start rebuilding credit much more quickly after a Ch 7 Bk discharge than having to wait for the Ch 13 Bk to discharge.
