1 BAD BIRD
Hello everyone. As you can see I am new to the board, well new to posting I have been doing some reading and found some good info. The search feature though makes it hard to find "exactly" what you are looking for. My wife and I are FINALLY back to financial freedom, but our credit took a 1-2 punch knock out along the way. I read that you should contact EACH CRA by mail to get your first copies to go off of when disputing? Where do I find the address for ALL the angencies? Do I need to look at just the big three? I see there is more . I also have been looking for a form letter to request my report...no l uck. I really want to get started on this....depressing to say the least. Well any and all help would surely be appreciated. AGAIN thanks!!!Bob S.

J_Snow
If you dont you wont get your reports! You can do it online as well... if you use the telephone method tell them you were denied credit and get them for free!

If you dont have any open accounts and are trying to 'lie low' then a PO box would work.
1 BAD BIRD
I just wasn't sure to be honest. I know they say to dispute all old addresses.? Also I tried calling EQ and it is an automated service and wants me to input my numeric portion of my address. And if it doesn't match they tell me to mail in my request. Obviously it most likely won't match cause I just changed the addresses on my creditors so it probably doesn't show up yet. Guess I need to mail in a request? Is there a form letter? What shouldn't I send them to verify my address? thanks again I know so many questions...sorry.bob
J_Snow
Why not start with PrivacyGuard. Its free for the first 2 months and you can get 3 in one report. That will show you where you stand with each CRA-I know the 3 CRAs have different last addresses for me since we moved 2 times last year.
1 BAD BIRD
I was thought that you needed the hard copy from one of the CRAs to have your file numbers to dispute your credit?Any form letter to ask for your report?bob
Guest jeeptravel
I think you misunderstood a previous post in which I stated you will need the original account numbers to dispute items on your credit report. There are 2 ways to get these: #1) From a direct copy of your credit report from one of the big 3 -or-#2) Your own records. The PG and CreditKeeper 3 in 1 reports only show a partial account number so they can't help you with that info.Let me be clear however: You DO NOT need a report from on of the big three in order to dispute what you find on the 3 in 1 services.make sense now?-JT
