When you say threaten to sue.. is that the creditor who did the inquiry or the cra? are the sob stories directed towards the creditor?

According to the FCRA, credit bureaus are supposed to investigate EVERYTHING a consumer disputes:

§ 611. Procedure in case of disputed accuracy [15 U.S.C. § 1681i]

(a) Reinvestigations of disputed information.

(1) Reinvestigation required.

(A) In general. If the completeness or accuracy of any item of information contained in a consumer's file at a consumer reporting agency is disputed by the consumer and the consumer notifies the agency directly of such dispute, the agency shall reinvestigate free of charge and record the current status of the disputed information, or delete the item from the file in accordance with paragraph (5), before the end of the 30-day period beginning on the date on which the agency receives the notice of the dispute from the consumer.

Now, the credit bureaus like to tell you that inquiries are a matter of fact and will refuse to investigate them. As you can clearly see, not doing so is a violation and therefore you need to take action to get the errors fixed. DONT THREATEN TO SUE IF YOU DONT PLAN ON FOLLOWING THROUGH! Its a waste of time, as they almost always call your bluff.

Long ago...back in the day (lol) I sent them an ITS and fortunatley for me it worked without having to take further action and I got all my inq removed. You can try bumpage...doesnt always work, but its worth a shot. You can also try the sob story deal, again doesnt always work. I would use the ITS as a last resort though, unless of course you have time to waste....but thats just me.

I hope that helps some...good luck and let us know how ya do! :D

And Joe.....I just so happen to get your TU check in the mail today....but you gotta come here to get it. 8-)
