out4good3
OK...I've got my first round of dispute and validation letters all polished and ready to send out. It was my intention of sending the one to the CA cmrrr but should I do the same with the CRA's?

bluealex915
Hell yes!!!Send them all certified, in the event that you need to prove a time line to the courts or the CRA you will have the certified mail reciepts and they can't deny that they ever got your letters. You can go one better too, if you think that you might have to sue on a particular account or trade line I would get signature confirmation as well as the certified reciept. Good luck................ Guest jeeptravel
Someone explain 2 me how a certified mail charge $2.30 is going to be worth it (times however many disputes) when you can dispute online and make a time stamped copy of your transaction? I've done an incredible amount of cleaning up my credit with online disputes. Only a few things have required me to send certified mail. And ya know what online costs? HINT: less that $2.30/letterf . . r . . e . . . eThanks in advanceJTPS if you wanna spend the money it probably is a more "toward" way to dispute. I just haven't found it to be necessary with the online option.
anti-something
but will your timestamped online dispute hold up in court?a CMRRR will.depends how seriously you want to make the papertrail, if you feel there is going to be a need, you may as well cover yourself. Guest jeeptravel
I think it probably wouldn't hold up in court. I just want people to know that they can make headway free with the online disputes. I have. When I started I had 12 open derogatory accounts and a score of 423 across the board. Now They are almost all gone, or updated to "pays as agreed" via online disputing. I've also dumped a lot of lates. It sounds like you went to a lot of work writing letters, maybe she's right and you should certify them. I only write letters when the online fails, and that isn't often (so far anywayz). Good luck, sounds like fun.-JT
out4good3
....and this is what I want...something indisputable that the CRA's will take notice of and something that will hold up in court, should I have to take that option. But, I've just thought of another scenario......has it ever been the case when no one from either a CA or CRA bothered to sign for the document? What then....?I'm sitting here, looking at four certified mail receipts, three for the CRA's and one for MCM who I want to slam dunk in a big way. I plan on being real aggressive with these people because I've already asked verbally for a validation and the lady on the phone went off on me. Guest jeeptravel
If you are in DV, then definitely send them out certified. Good Luck!JT
bluealex915
It has been my personal preference to send all mine certified and at times with a green card. I feel alot better about it knowing I have a hard copy of something that I can show the CRA or a judge for that matter. I have done the on line thing and in my case it does not work anymore so I am down to keeping very good records and copies of letters and so forth. I guess it comes down to how far you will want to take it, I am done playing games with the CRA's and have currently just served Experian with a suit so If I would have done everything on line I would not have a whole lot to show the judge. Doing it this way I have a paper trail a mile long and it makes me look orginized and I can show the judge copies of my actual letters and mail reciepts. It is true that the on line dispute is free and faster then snail mail but it comes down to how far are you going to take it, personal preference. Thanks and good luck ............................................
