pamelabe
My moms friend used to work for Experian and offered some this advice to getting things off your record. File your dispute in the 1st week of Dec in which they have 30 days to investigate and get a response back. Usually, they cant because it is a very busy time of year with the holidays, parties, vacations etc and alcohol so....your chances are mcuh greater to raise a dispute. I say go for as I have in the past and it worked!!
Xanathos
Also known as CHOD. BTW, it's best to send it so it gets to them the day before Thanksgiving....

Xanathos
CHOD=CreditNet Holiday Onslaught of DisputesIt's best to get them day before Turkey day because that covers both Thanksgiving AND Christmas holiday...Thanksgiving being a 4 day holiday weekend, usually also with a short day on the day before...5 days if you count the short staff issue companies face the Monday following the weekend of gorging. So it's entirely possible your dispute won't even leave the PO Box for the CRA until the following Tuesday...there's around 20% of their dispute time right there. Then you still get the Christmas season short-staffings as well.New Year's is a 1 day deal, and many companies don't even give their employees that day off. It's not just that the CRA's are short-staffed and can't respond to everybody, it's the original creditors and collection agencies that have to respond, as well. retmar
Another way to look at what Xanathos is saying is that by their receiving your dispute on the day before T-Day, they must respond by the week between Christmas and New Years when their staff is usually at the minimum. In short, you caught them in the middle and they are more inclined to not violate your rights as the CA would.
Waxworks
Christmas is on a SATURDAY, this year, meaning that FRIDAY, the 24th is the "Observed" Christmas, meaning we have 1 extra day this year.Happy CHOD
gprncss
Good tip , I'm going to give it a try and see what happens. I'm got 3 lousy charge-offs I can't seem to get off Exp and EQ to save my life! All of them are over 6 years old, they fall off in 6-7 months but I'd really like them off now if I can, so I can apply for credit and start building up some good points

workinninetofive
Xanathos-have you gotten deletes during CHOD? Have they popped back up later? what day are you putting yours in the mail?
goodmank
I have decided on mailing mine November 17th.......by looking through my files I have determined that the longest it has taken for a CB to sign the green card has been seven days. This would put my dispute in their hand between November 18th and 24th........I hope it works
Xanathos
Xanathos-have you gotten deletes during CHOD? Have they popped back up later? what day are you putting yours in the mail?I'm not sending in disputes for it--my credit repair journey is already complete. I'm on the boards these days to share my experiences and help others go through their maze of credit issues (and to just generally be a pain in the a$$).Plus, as Ahab said in "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", I "walked a different path"...I was never a big fan of disputing repeatedly with the CRA's. Took too long, wasn't profitable enough, was just generally too friendly and amicable for my tastes. I've never done a CHODAll that being said, however...I'd 2 day priority disputes to the bureaus so they get there the Wednesday before Turkey Day if I were going to be doing the CHOD. workinninetofive
That's great. I take it you had more luck legally? Not sure yet whether I am going to particpate. I am starting to think, that I may be better off catching them in the wrong, taking them to court.. and trying to get them deleted that way. Xanathos
Read the lawyer board. 70% of the cases created by members of this board were mine .That title next to my avatar on the left is well earned .
