lek1981
From reading the post, I can tell that Citi bank seems to be very sue happy. My driver license is from jersey, I live and the address that is on my account an philadelphia address, the orginal address for the account was my parents address in NJ, if CITI was to issue a summons where would it issued? The collection agency send a letter to my apartment in philly. Also I sent in a DV and Lm't C&D via CMRR.Should to tell them this over the phone? They have been calling my cell phone and my paernts house. I don't really care about my cell phone I just want them to stop calling my parents house. Should I call up citi and tell them this too? Thanks

But since I'm new at this whole process I'll let someone with more experience verify this.

admin
If it's Citi who is suing you or harrassing you, they aren't in violation of the FDCPA. The FDCPA in general only refers to collection agencies.

As Admin said, if you're dealing directly with the OC then they play by a different set of rules than the CA. Perhaps your parents could fax or mail you a copy of the letter? To whom did you send your DV/C&D letter? If you are dealing with a CA and they've contacted you at your Philadelphia address, then that is most likely where they would serve a summons. whoisjohnny2004
Couldn't they INTENTIONALLY serve your summons anywhere BUT at the Philadelphia residence so that they could get a default judgment? What stops a CA from changing the address to suit their needs (e.g. a default judgment if you didn't appear in court, etc.)?-Thanks!
